Staff Trip

We went to Seward, Alaska for our staff trip, the weekend after week four of camp.

There were many activities that were optional.
Some people went white water rafting.
Some went halibut fishing.
Others just wandered around Seward.

Here are some pictures....

Kiwi, my CIT :)

I wanted to eat on the logs... I just wanted to eat on a particularly large log. So we convinced some friends of ours to help us prop it up... it took about 4 strapping young men.

At a wonderful coffee shop in Seward.

Bluejay and myself on the Fox Island dinner cruise.

Peggz and Phoenix on the cruise.

On the boat :)

MuddChopps starting his day off write- just jammin on the guitar... on the floor... in the lobby of the church.

Some of the VBC staff on the cruise.

Geddy taking a picture.

Fox Island shore is known for its amazing skipping stones.

Do you want to mess with her?

Just enjoying the ride.
Besties.

I don't know if we ever are able to take a normal picture on try one...

Geddy!

On the docks.
"Hey Geddy, you should go out there..."

After we returned from the dinner cruise, Ritz, Geddy, Phoenix, and myself just walked up and down the docks.  Phoenix was trying to get this fisherman to spray me with water (he was cleaning his boat)... when Phoenix walked away I asked the fisherman to... and he definitely did!

Halibut

The catch-all place under the fish cleaning station.
"Hey Geddy, you should pretend your a fish and hang from that."
There is dead fish on the hook...
"It will be really funny!"
(Approximately 5 begging phrases later....)

Oh Geddy! (He is SUCH a blast!)

the close up!

Phoenix photo-bombing... some not so happy girls. ha ha

My dear friend Swix following the evacuation route.
Two amazingly beautiful and just amazing ladies! Lieu Lieu and Kiwi.

Two of the most amazing high school boys ever- Zatara and Swix.

"MaMa Us Us"

The staff trip was truly amazing.
Friendships were strengthened.
Many minds were refreshed.
Most importantly, hearts were refocused.

Gibberish

There is a game that is unique to Victory.
The game is called Gibberish.
The audience picks a person, place, and a "weapon" for the players to act out.

Example:
Person- an overweight executioner
Place- in Michael Jackson's grave
Weapon- a dryer full of bouncy balls

There were three boys at camp that came from the Christian music school called Visible.
At one of Alpine's firesides they were the three players of Gibberish.

Geddy was the first player.
So the audience told him what they were going to be acting out.
Phoenix was the second player.
So Geddy had to act out the person, place, and weapon to Phoenix.
Then Phoenix acted them out to MuddChopps.
MuddChopps, being the third player, must guess what the person, place, and weapon are.

This is our view from Alpine fireside. (Around 10:00 pm)

Phoenix playing Gibberish

Geddy playing Gibberish.

Geddy gave Maverick some leaves.... and gave me some moose poop.

ohhh Phoenix

Hatcher's Pass

Kelly (my friend who brought me to Victory Bible Camps) was the staff counselor.  Part of her job was to plan activities for the weekends.

One weekend we went to Hatcher's Pass.  Hatcher's Pass is a mountain pass through the southwest part of the Talkeetna Mountains.  It is named after Robert Hatcher, a prospector and miner.

This animal was making very frightening screeching noises.

Taken from inside one of the buildings.

Some remnants of the mine.

One of the buildings left from when the mine was open.

Another mining building.
KaM Time!!

Remnants of a building.
The beautiful Kelly by her smiley face.

That would be MuddChopps (Alpine counselor)  in the background, Aaron (the program director) pushing Kroc (AV team) in his wheelchair.  This picture just captures all of their silliness.

"I'm touching it..."

Right behind my head is Palmer/Wasilla.  The buildings to the left are the remaining buildings from the mine.

Petrie, our little mountain climber.

Post Camp Confusion

The last group of campers left yesterday.
For the past 7 weeks, at this time I would normally be in the chapel with my fellow camp staff, worshiping our God.

However camp is over.

A van full of counselors left.  Some to Anchorage, others to Wasilla or Palmer.  The "out of staters" to the airport in Anchorage.

In the wake of confusion I took a long nap.

I do not even know where to start.
